Ferrari Drops Details on 597HP 458 Speciale
Apparently, someone at Ferrari's creative name department is taking an extended vacation. Following the redundancy that is the Ferrari LaFerrari, Maranello dished out details on another questionably named, yet special new vehicle. Actually, it's called the 458 Speciale. But you won't be laughing when it hits the track. With a monstrous 597-hp Ferrari says that it's the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 they've ever built. And at 135 cv/l, they even lay claim to it being "the highest ever [output] achieved by a road-going naturally aspirated engine." Although, a few Mercedes-Benz and AMG engineers might disagree.
The Speciale can manage the sprint from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3 seconds flat. It even gets up and goes around Ferrari's Fiorano test track a whole 1.5 seconds faster than the standard 458.Lightyears in supercar statistics. Visually, the Speciale doesn't stray much from the standard 458. A nip here with a more aerodynamic front end, a tuck there. It also features a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup2 tires, and the body is topped off with a deep blue and white pinstripe across the center.
