Elmiraj Concept Is Cadillac's Halo Car of the Future
Cadillac has been hard at work over the last decade reinventing itself. The notions of floaty land barge are far-gone, replaced with complimenting, exciting vehicles, such as the CTS-V and ATS. The only thing missing from the Cadillac lineup has been a halo car, and the American luxury brand is a step closer with this– the all-new Cadillac Elmiraj Concept. Now, if you noticed, we did say concept. So, Caddy doesn’t have a halo car just yet, but from what we can tell, what we have here is a lot more than vaporware. According to Cadillac, styling builds on the popular Ciel Concept and was built on a chassis that is currently in development for future products. Also, note the new, sans-laurel Cadillac Crest logo on this concept. Do you like? Tell us in the comments below.
A 500-horsepower, 4.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 sits under the long, sloping hood. According to Cadillac, the engine builds off the architecture and technology from the twin-turbo V6 currently in the all-new CTS-V sport.
The layout is set as a large, four seat coupe, conjuring up memories of the classic Cadillac Eldorado. The design seems attainable for a production car, the innards are for real and the engine is to. So what does that mean fro the Elmiraj? Will it become a production car? It’s a long shot, but if a production version sees the light of day, it could be the halo car to drive American luxury in the decade to come.
