Barn Find Lancia Stratos Headed for Auction
For reasons unknown, it seems more and more lately that people are finding rare and desirable supercars left to die in the back of someone's barn (and/or storage unit). Like this uber-rare Lancia Stratos- recently uncovered from a California ranch of which it's been sitting lifeless since 1998. Making its way stateside in 1982, this is one of only 492 Stratos' ever built. Previously owned by a California native who often used it to commute from his home in San Francisco to his ranch in Santa Barbara. The healthy living conditions kept the classic from building up too much rust and, for the most part, kept it mechanically stable.
With only 31,072 miles on the odometer, the Stratos looks good enough to run at the moment. But, it's going to have to go through a full re-commisioning by auction mechanics before it finds a new owner. The Lancia will hit the block on August 16th at Bonham's in London and should fetch somewhere in the market of $250K-$300K. PHOTOS: See more of the 1973 Lancia Stratos
