Lucra Readying All-New Sportscar
Cali-based Lucra Automotive is one of America's best up-and-coming sportscar manufacturers. When we sat down with them for an interview back in May, we realized pretty quickly that through the use of technology like 3D-printing, they were poised to revolutionize the auto industry forever. Now, as the LC470 fights in an extremely niche market, Lucra is prepping its second vehicle to be sold alongside it. The Design Study Codename 2.2- might not have the most creative name on the automotive market, but everything else? Oh, it's pretty and it's potent.
Like the LC470, the 2.2 sports a long nose, and a stubby rear. If we can trust what reports tell us, you'll have a choice of either GM or AMG V8 power ringing in close to 600 horses. Buyers even get to choose whether that monster V8 will sit in the front or center of the car. The lightweight tubular structure will be a little more rigid than the current 2,000-lb LC470. It's also predicted that the 2.2 will have a 0-60 mph time expected somewhere near the three second mark. Lucra hasn't said just yet when the 2.2 will hit production, but we're waiting with bated breath. PHOTOS: See more of the 2013 Lucra Design Study Codename 2.2
