Ford Mustang Air Force Thunderbirds Edition to be Auctioned off at EAA
Ford, and more so the Mustang, have always been all about some good ol' fashioned down home military representation. As we saw last year with the Mustang Red Tails edition, and again for another year in honor of the US Air Force Thunderbird's 60th anniversary with the Mustang Air Force Thunderbirds edition. Covered in a signature red, white and blue getup- reminiscent of the Thunderbird F-16 Falcons- the Mustang comes fitted with a custom wide body kit, a new glass roof and 22-inch Forgiato rims.
Inside, Ford tells us we get a handsome set of leather Recaro seats, a new instrument cluster, including a revised navigation screen and an aircraft silhouette feature that illuminates the ground when the doors are opened. Under the hood, Ford found a place to fit a supercharger onto the 5.0-liter V8, along with a few other suspension tweaks. Although, official performance figures have yet to be given. The Mustang will go under the hammer at the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconson August 1st.
