Neo Brothers Saab 96SS Brings a Classic Back to Life
For those of you with a lingering Saab obsession, the one place you might want to check out is Neo Brothers. The UK-based tuners have been officially doing business for nearly 25 years, and while you may not find any Saab dealerships around your neighborhood, they might have a cure for your obsession. This is the Saab 96SS custom; big and bold and beautiful in its own right. It's the kind of car that Saab enthusiasts dream of. With the chassis based off a modern-day Saab 9-3, and the body pulled from a 1974 96- albeit with a few modifications.
Up front, you'll find the same 2.0L turbocharged engine on the 9-3, complete with re-profiled cam shafts, a high pressure fuel pump, all paired to a five-speed transmission and pumping out close to 500-hp. The car was officially revealed to the public at Saabfest '13 on June 2nd, and will live on in the Saab museum until the end of July before it returns back home back to the UK.
