Ferrari Planning 600-HP 458 Scuderia for Frankfurt
In sportscar years- the Ferrari 458 Italia has been on the market for quite some time. All the while soaking up accolades as one of the prettiest and sportiest Ferraris to ever grace the top side of the tarmac. But now, as the 458 gracefully grows into maturity, Car and Driver reports that we could see a high-powered Scuderia (or Monte Carlo/Challenge Stradale) version of the 458 when the Frankfurt Motor Show rolls around.
Naturally, the Scuderia will be more powerful and will carry over some technology learned on the LaFerrari such as a new seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox and new gear ratios. Power from the 4.5L V8 is expected somewhere in the realm of 600 (up from 562), and other upgrades would include thicker brakes, a stiffer suspension and racing-spec tires. All this will be on display when the doors open to the Frankfurt Motor Show mid-September.
