Hennessey Velociraptor SUV: Ford Excursion Returns with a Supercharger
In 2005, when the monstrous Ford Excursion was killed off, it was met with mixed reviews. On one hand, it was a brutally honest, take-no-shit sort of SUV with enough room for a family of mammoths/Americans. On the other hand, it was massive, drank gas like a fish drinks water and was highly under-engineered. At any rate- it's dead as a doorknob. Hennessey though, wants to bring back the Excursion from the grave in the form of the Velociraptor SUV. A 600-hp super-SUV based on the Ford F-150 Raptor, of course.
Under the hood the 6.2L V8 comes in a mildly entertaining 400-hp guise- which manages 60 mph in only about 7.5 seconds. But thanks to an added supercharger option, the V8 pushes out close to 600-hp and propels to 60 in only 5.9 seconds. How's that for a ride kids? In total the SUV will set you back nearly $150K. Which actually doesn't sound terrible if you're actually absurd enough to buy it in the first place. PHOTOS: See more of the Hennessey Velociraptor SUV
