2014 Nissan 370Z Nismo Goes on Sale This Summer

While Toyota and Honda may be content to roll out a full product line devoid of a true sportscar, you can always count on Nissan for Japanese performance. Long the purveyor of the much-loved sportscars such as the GT-R and the Z, Nissan has always kept us satisfied. While the GT-R may be just out of many enthusiasts' price range, the 370Z is an incredibly attractive proposition, and the Nismo 370Z is the most fetching of them all. The 2014 Nissan 370Z Nismo is the latest manifestation of Nissan's performance tuning division– and it is coming soon. Like TRD for Toyota and HPD for Honda, most of Nismo's business is aftermarket parts for current models and tuners of late model Nissan's. TRD may offer a special edition of the Tacoma, but only Nissan has true Nismo derivative cars. The 2014 Nismo Z bears subtle updates, in the form of dark gray lower front and upper rear spoilers, as well as a new steering wheel design with Alcantara and red accents, but the real story is the mechanicals. Nismo has taken the standard 3.7-liter V6 and tuned it to 350 horsepower, sent through a 6-speed manual transmission with rev-matching. At all for corners are 19-inch Rays forged aluminum wheels. Stopping is done by Nismo aftermarket brakes, measuring 14 inches in the front and 13.8 inches in the rear. The 2014 Nissan 370Z Nismo goes on sale throughout the United States this summer.
