This or That: Jaguar F-Type Convertible, Coupe or Sportbrake?
The Jaguar F-Type was one of the biggest reveals of 2012. A spiritual successor to the long-loved E-Type, the new Jag had some major shoes to fill as the staple of the Jaguar brand as a whole. But how do you fancy your F-Type? Convertible? Coupe? Sportbrake, even? There is soon to be many different forms form which to choose, so let's break it down: Convertible- Ah yes, the standard F-Type convertible is indeed a pretty thing, and actually the only one that has even come to fruition as of yet. The range tops out at 380-hp thanks to a 5.0L V8 paired to an optional six-speed manual transmission- it's not your run-of-the-mill rag top.
Coupe- Technically, we've already seen the coupe in the form of the gorgeous C-X16. The face of an F-Type, without all the drawbacks of a drop top. As of yet Jag hasn't confirmed the possibility of a single roofed F-Type, but early reports suggest we could see one soon in all its 600-hp glory. Sportbrake; or, wagon for the less technically inclined. So far we're not entirely sure what this is. We're written it off as a well-done rendering but rumor has it it actually could be the real deal. If so, it's a damn beautiful piece of engineering if we don't say.
So what have you- do you like the feeling of the wind through your hair? Or would you rather have your heart pounding under a 600-hp coupe? And what about the kids; do they want to be whisked around in a 400-hp stunning piece of sport brake pornagraphy? Tell us which Jag you would choose in the comments below.
