Peugeot Returns to Pikes Peak with 208 T16
French automaker Peugeot has been long gone from the infamous Pikes Peak International Hillclimb. That is, until recently. The all-new 208 T16 Pikes Peak is a hill climb machine, set to be driven by none other than nine-time world rally champion Sebastien Loeb. Naturally, the 208 T16 will bear a number of differences from the production-spec 208. The T16 will sport a massive rear wing for added downforce, a roof scoop supplying additional fresh air to the mid-mounted engine and a set of black on black Red Bull racing vinyls to accent.
With the 208 T16, Peugeot hopes that they can relive past successes from the 405 T16 in 1988 and 1989 in which they claimed back-to-back victories. As the racer does bear the same name as the 208 mini-car, nearly all the stock parts have been gutted and replaced with Pikes Peak spec racing parts. Peugeot hasn't given us full details as of yet, but expect this to be one badass piece of racing machinery when it takes to the mountain. PHOTOS: See more of the Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak
