Hyundai HND-9 Concept: Please Be the New Genesis Coupe
While everyone was busy gawking over cars we had all already essentially seen at the New York Auto Show this past week, Hyundai managed to sneak by a new concept at the Seoul Motor Show in South Korea for the homegrown crowd. This concept was the HND-9- aka, the new Genesis coupe. Probably. While this unique concept may not have grabbed the attention of the entire world, it was one that previewed a bright new future for the nearly forgotten Genesis coupe. What once was the "genesis" of the affordable sportscar market in the U.S., quickly turned into a second, and even third choice to the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ due to some weight and handling issues.
Now though, as Hyundai continues to rack in new customers and cash flow, we expect the HND-9 to loosely translate into a better looking, better performing Genesis with a powerful enough four-banger and a six-speed manual transmission. Our suggestion Hyundai: lighter, cheaper and make it look like this. PHOTOS: See more of the Hyundai HND-9 Concept
