Detroit Electric Sportscar Slated for NY Auto Show Reveal
Ford, GM and Chrysler- or, the "Detroit Big Three" as the companies are most commonly referred to- might have the task of dealing with some forthcoming
new old competition at this years New York Auto Show. The historic, Detroit Electric.
If you've never heard of them- which, most of you probably haven't- the pre-WWII era company produced electric vehicles from 1907 until 1939 when they officially shut their doors for good. In 2008, the company found new life via former Lotus Group CEO Albert Lam "with a vision to produce an electric vehicle that seamlessly integrates refined aesthetics, innovative technology and superior handling and performance."
Now, nearly three-quarters of a century after the company officially closed up shop and five years of research and development, the fourth man out is set to unveil a brand new electric sportscar which will take center stage at this years New York Auto Show.
