Ferrari F1 Hovercar Concept Foreshadows the Future of Motor Racing
The year is 2439 (or something), and in a time now barren of any technological developments found near the early ages of the 21st century,
cars hovercars such as this are more commonplace than any gas-powered, rubber-bearing "antiques." The races are faster, the competition is hotter, and the designs are even more radical and eye-catching than ever before.
This is the future of motor racing, at least, one designer thinks so. The F1 Ferrari concept by design Csaba Kiss is one of the most futuristic concepts we've ever seen. But aside from the "no wheel" aspect of the design, the mostly tame F1 car bears many similarities to modern F1 cars including an elongated and sleek front end paired to a downforce-inducing rear.
The hover racer projects an idea of how the future is anticipated in many minds, even of an Italian race team. And like the designer of the project points out, "technically this vehicle was not able to fly in our world, but who knows, maybe in a galaxy far-far away…" We hope so.
