Cadillac Gets Frosty with Special Edition CTS Models
Rumors are afoot that the Cadillac CTS will be replaced in the next year or so. That means that a successor CTS-V is sure to follow, thus we're nearing the end of this generation's epic, supercharged, V8 run. Cadillac has been making the hard push to be considered among the world's elite automakers. If Lamborghini or Mercedes-Benz are evidence, one sign of an elite automaker is to put out special editions of your vehicles as their production run nears its end. Cadillac has apparently been watching this trend as well. The American luxury automaker is rolling out a limited production run of the Silver Frost Edition CTS-V Coupe, featuring the eponymous Silver Frost matte paint. This limited run of 100 vehicles will also feature yellow or red Brembo brakes, special wheels, and a suede steering wheel and shift knob. These vehicles go on sale in March.
According to Cadillac, the Silver Frost paint was achieved by applying a "30-gloss" clear coat, compared to the "80-gloss" found in your average paint finish. Though it will sparkle in certain lighting conditions, it is most certainly matte.
Less exclusive but equally as attractive is the Stealth Blue edition, which is available on the CTS Sedan, and all variants of the CTS-V, including the wagon. The sedan and coupe versions of the CTS-V are also available with a "Twilight Blue" interior package. Forget "Team Edward," we'll stick with "Team Caddy" and keep our eyes out for these magnificently matte Cadillacs.
