Holden Exposes Commodore SS V, Portends Chevrolet SS
We've all been waiting patiently for Chevrolet's all-powerful, rear-drive, V8 sedan- better known as the SS. Here it is…but in Australian form. Chevy's Aussie counterpart, Holden, revealed its very own version of the upcoming American SS with the Commodore SS V. It's a rear-drive, very orange, V8 monster. This may or may not directly influence the design of the SS (probably). Along with the official SS stock car, this does give us an idea as to what the American version of the M5-fighter will look like.
Most of the DNA from the Commodore was directly taken from the now-extinct Pontiac G8, which remained untouched in Australia for many years under the Holden nameplate. The body is large, muscular and rather handsome, with sharp black glossy wheels and an aggressive set of quad exhausts. Under the hood is likely to reside the LT1 found on the Corvette- although, Holden has yet to make anything official. This 6.2-liter V8 is expected to push somewhere near the 400-hp mark, straight to the rear wheels, of course. PHOTOS: See more of the Holden Commodore VF SS V
