Your Ride: 2002 Chrysler Prowler
We're back with "Your Ride," showcasing all of your radical rides and what makes them just so darn special. Make sure to submit your ride by clicking here and look forward to seeing your ride on BoldRide! The original Chrysler Prowler (for some) was a less-than-enthusiastic sportscar with all the potential of a lightweight, stripped down kit car. Chrysler/Plymouth never advanced into the latter, but the Prowler is still an iconic collectable. It remains as a shining vestige of the late 20th century, solidering on into the early years of last decade. The Prowler holds true to motoring ideals of a time gone by and an enticing American prowess. For owner Javier Ferrea, his Prowler is all that, and then some. With only 926 original miles on the odometer, the Prowler in pristine condition. It has original paint, wheels, interior and engine. The Prowler is constantly maintained, both in performance and looks. It's also one of only 300 Candy Red Pearl examples ever built.
Boldride: How did you acquire your ride? Javier: Through a collector's agent (dealer); vehicle formerly owned by a political figure. What drew you to it when you bought it? I have been a fan of the Prowler ever since I worked for Daimler-Chrysler in 2000-2001. Does it have a name? "ROXEE" ...named for a cancer survivor (license plate supports the "Pink Ribbon" cause).
What do you feel like when you drive it? Feel like I am behind the wheel of my all-time favorite; 1934 Ford Coupe (with all the modern safety equipment). What would you change about the car, if anything? Front bumper removal (would be an insurance issue, however); hard top installation (if one would not have to remove to open trunk lid); Vossen wheels install (keeping original wheels due to low collector status mileage). What would be your dream accessory for it and why? Shoehorn a Viper R/T V10 under the hood with major surgery on the frame and transmission to handle the additional horsepower/torque. Thanks to Javier for letting us share his awesome ride!
Oh, what's that? You have a boss ride? You want us to feature it on BoldRide? Well head here to submit your ride...we can't wait to see your car!
