Bold Ride of the Week: Shelby GT500 Super Snake Widebody
To kick off our newest segment "Bold Ride of the Week," we're taking some of our most popular, most radical rides from the past week and taking you more in-depth on why one just so much more badass than the rest. Starting off with this; Shelby American's all-new GT500 Super Snake Widebody. While it was a bit more difficult than usual to pick our top ride of the week (ya know, Detroit and all), the Super Snake definitely shined in the motor city.
This 200-mph monster graced the Cobo Hall floor of day two in Detroit, bringing with it a newly designed Shelby Ford Focus ST. Under the hood, the customer has their choice of 662- or 850- all street-legal horsepower from a tuned V8. In order to sustain all this power, Shelby American added 13- and 10-inch wide front and rear tires pulled together through the use of a custom wide body kit. Seen here, the Shelby sports a sexy deep red paint scheme with Satin Black racing stripes. All this custom work will cost you an extra $28-$39K (depending on the package) on top of the price of the car. PHOTOS: See more of the 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake Widebody
