Updated Acura NSX Concept Makes Us Wonder, Corvette Who?
If you live in a box, you wouldn't know that the Corvette Stingray made a triumphant return at the Detroit Auto Show. It was accompanied by overzealous anticipation, a guitar solo and one of the douchiest press kits I've seen in years (although, I totally want one). With that, I'm really tired of talking about the damn Corvette; we get it, it's a big deal. I want to talk about something with more pizzaz, something that comes from a land of many volcano's, something...with a beak. I want the Acura NSX. We knew already that the NSX was sort of a big deal when it made a formal appearance at last years Detroit outing; but this year, Acura turned the sexy meter up to 11 with the introduction of a red velvet interior and carbon fiber ninja star wheels that will slice your god damn fingers off. Utterly uber sex machine.
As for the interior, Acura made it more dapper than a 19th century masquerade ball, with a deep red pair of luxury racing seats, finished with a center suede backing and black leather accents. The door fitments and center console are draped in naked carbon fiber, and the instrument cluster is simple and sophisticated. As before, Acura doesn't want to give any dirty details on performance, but, the NSX does carry the same hybrid V6 and a DSG gearbox. Wait for it to go on sale…umm…eventually...
