Good Grief! Chevy Impala to Soldier on Through 2014

There are some traditions we can put up with during the Holiday season. Reruns of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" and "Frosty the Snowman," are welcomed occurrences, no matter how many times we have seen them. This, on the other hand, is not. General Motors has stated that the current Chevrolet Impala will last through 2014 model year. This is crap news, because the Impala is a crap car, and a REALLY good replacement is on the way. At this year's New York Auto Show, GM unveiled a 2014 redesign of the Impala, which is weak to begin with, considering how long it will take for that car to finally get into dealerships. Now, we hear that GM will keep on building the current bland-as-hell Chevy Impala through 2014, probably for fleet duty. There is another possibility as well. Chevy could sell the new Impala, with the current one alongside it as the "Impala Classic." They have done it with plenty of cars in the past, and there is no reason why they would not do that with a car for which they will have plenty of unsold units. Honestly, we should have a new weekly called "GM Being GM." …oh wait, we might. Source: The Truth About Cars
