Nelson Racing Wants to Put 2,000HP in this 69 Chevy Camaro
2,000-hp is a hefty amount of power to come by no matter how you shake it- ehem- as we’ve seen before. The god-car-of-all-cars Bugatti Veyron Super Sport only comes available with 1,200-hp, which propels it to a top speed of just about 267 mph. So then what would come from a 2,000-hp space rocket with wheels? Insanity, I would assume. But there are many in this world who are indeed insane, case and point, Nelson Racing. They claim, they can squeeze 2,000-hp (at at the wheels) out of a 1969 Chevy Camaro. In fact, they’ve found two other companies just as nuts as they are -eGarage and Roadster shop- who have decided to throw down for the project.
By installing a NRE Billet Blackout Series twin-turbo intercooler 572 cubic inch Big Block Chevy Crate and a six-speed manual transmission Nelson can back up their claims; and of course, it comes with a set Drag Radial tires and runs on 91 octane race fuel. In-f*#@ing-sane. PHOTOS: See more of the 1969 Nelson Racing Chevrolet Camaro
