Ferrari Hires Former Apple Exec to Board of Directors
Former Apple exec Eddy Cue (pictured), who’s work has ranged in Apple’s internet software and services, has now been dragged to Maranello to work hand in hand with Ferrari engineers on initiating high tech gadgetry into future models. Overseeing many recognizable Apple products like iTunes, iBooks, iOS Maps, Siri, the iOS App Store and iCloud, Cue has over 25 years of professional experience with the conglomerate and now hopes to translate his skills to the Italian automaker. This rather unprecedented news by Ferrari has most of us scratching our heads curiously as to the realm of possibility presented with the new tag team.
In a statement by Ferrari’s Luca di Montezemolo, he says, “His [Cue] huge experience in the dynamic, innovative world of the Internet will be of great assistance to us.” As Ferrari is the first automaker to officially bring on board Apple staff to the board of directors, the Apple company in general, has worked closely with companies like GM, BMW, Mercedes, Land Rover, etc., and, in 2007 even looked to hire an automotive engineer for an undisclosed project.
