Lamborghini Urus SUV Expected by 2017, Could See Life as a Hybrid

Let’s be honest, the Lamborghini Urus SUV is nothing more than a development by a bunch of pencil-pushers in order to keep sales up and budget down. Thankfully, most of the time that’s been a surprisingly good thing, such with the Porsche Panamera. Now, as development continues ahead of confirmation from big brother VW, some new reports from Autoblog suggest that the Urus won’t be ready before 2017, and it will most likely be a hybrid. This in turn, pushes the Urus production date back even further due to restricted space at Lambo’s Sant’Agata factory. CEO Stephen Winkelmann also confirmed that the Lamborghini group is looking into hybrid technology in future models, although, neither the Gallardo nor Aventador will be one of them as of yet due to size restrictions. So while we’re still left mostly in the dark in some aspects of the new SUV, a bit of light has shone as to the future of the beast.
