2013 Caterham Superlight R600 is All Sorts of Good
Caterham, the British manufacturer synonymous with making all things awesome, has just released the fastest, most powerful variation of their Seven track car to date. And it is beyond the realm of badassery. Officially entitled the Superlight R600, the overall look resembles nearly all of the cars in the Caterham lineup, which is never a bad thing. Complete with the trademark open top and roll cage, the Superlight bears forest green paint work and white and yellow pin striping details.
While we can go on all day about the looks of this purebread (which we can), what really makes this all new Caterham extra special is what lies underneath the “bonnet.” Through the use of a 2.0L supercharged 4-Cylinder engine, the R600, at 275-hp is the fastest track car these Brits have ever built. All this power, aided by the use of a Titan limited slip differential, is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox. Even more radical, current Caterham Superlight R300 owners will be given the opportunity to upgrade 100 ponies to the R600 package, although, we expect your wallet to be shedding some pounds in the process.
