Audi Quattro Concept may see life as a crossover-coupe...wait, what?
If you like being disappointed, you’re in for a treat. The drop dead gorgeous, powerful, futuristic, more good things, Audi Quattro Concept has been dropped from future production. Revealed to CAR Magazine at this years Paris Motor Show, Audi officials say that the market for a conventional sports car just doesn’t equal sales, but rather, a Quattro based crossover resembling the Crosslane Coupe would simply make more sense. Audi stated that the production of said crossover would be entitled the “Q-Coupe,” and will carry similar ride height and weight as the Range Rover Evoque, among others.
Like the Quattro concept though, it will play off many of the same design and powertrain cues including a sharp, futuristic character and the possible use of Audi’s EA555 five-cylinder turbocharged engine mounted to a seven-speed S-tronic transmission and a low-friction all-wheel drive system. While we think a production version of the Crosslane Coupe does sound dandy, a high performance, face melting Quattro sports car sounds even dandier.
