Jaguar Presents the F-Type With 495-HP V8...and Lana Del Rey [w/Video]
In times of late, finding yourself behind the wheel of a high-performance Jag -for example, an V8 under the hood. As most Jags
go went, the heavy exterior and exceedingly British interior left the driver with a numb desire for something more visceral- a car they could grab by the scruff of the neck and wrestle into submission. Jag listened. And this is their answer.
Lana Del Rey- oh, wait, no, the F-Type. Complete with the same 5.0-liter V8 found in the XKR-S, although, slightly downgraded to 495-hp to accompany a lighter 3,521 pound curb weight, this is the first true sports car to come from the Coventry outfit since the coveted E-Type. Jaguar says this F-Type is the spiritual sucessor to the iconic E-Type...that's called "setting the bar high."
Living up to its “sporty” designation, V6 capable of 340- or 380-hp, and topping off with the aforementioned 5.0-liter 495-hp V8.
Channeling their more proficient side, Jag fitted the F-Type with an eight-speed automatic, operated via gold-colored paddle shifters, although we hear a six-speed manual is a continuing possibility.
Price for all this Jaaaaaag will start here in the states at a hefty $69K, hoping Lana Del Rey comes with it. I love her.
