McLaren P1 Supercar Boasts Futuristic Style and Impressive Performance
Complete with months of speculation, overzealous teasing by the McLaren group and damned near the biggest metaphorical shoes to fill in reference to the McLaren F1, the all new McLaren P1 hypercar is one of the most highly anticipated automotive reveals in recent history. Chiming in as only the second model in the post-2010 McLaren lineup following the regarded MP4-12C, McLaren hopes that their all new halo car will cement the brand as a competitor in the top range market as competition heats up with the Ferrari F70, Porsche 918 Spyder, among others.
As of now, the P1 sits as a design study for preview at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, but a concept design that we don’t suspect will fall far from the production tree.
Boasting a McLaren-esque front fascia and classic orange paint job, it’s easy to recognize this futuristic ride as a product of the independent British automaker. It also comes with an extremely low ride height, hood, roof and side vents and a rear end that will make Kim Kardashian envious.

What we know now as far as performance is still limited. Some rumors suggest over 1,000-hp, while closer numbers reveal around 960-hp to be present from the expected V8 and hybrid KERS system, with a top speed of well over 230 mph. What we do know for sure is that McLaren officials claim this car to be the “quickest and most rewarding series production road car on a circuit.” Sounds sexy.
