1965 Corvette Lives on for Half a Million Miles

There is no greater bond than the one that exists between a man and the car he loves. Like an old married couple who've been together for 50 years and can somehow still stand the sight of each other, the owner and this 1965 Corvette Sting Ray have been together for 40+ years and are still going strong. Which is impressive, especially when we found out that this Corvette not only had 450,000+ miles on odometer when this video was shot, but that it's all original and is driven daily. That's right, aside from the occasional motor overhaul, touch ups, and basic maintenance, this Corvette is as it came from the factory in 1965. Even the suspension bushings are original. You'd think that after half a million miles on America's magnificient infrastructure this Stingray would ride like an on ox-cart from 1760, but it doesn't. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKHPa2G1Otw&feature=player_detailpage According to Jason Lewis, the handsome fellow who made this video, it's one of the best riding cars he's ever driven. It may be a bit of  subjective hyperbole, and that the pillowy ride just forces you to drive the car in laidback way as you wrestle with the manual steering. There's nothing wrong with that. And there's nothing wrong with driving a car day in and day out that's considered by many to be a highly collectible car. So if you've got a cool car just sitting at home, do yourself a favor. Get in your car, whatever it may be, and go drive it. Otherwise, what's the point? Click to see a bunch of other beautiful Chevrolet Corvettes.
