Video: Trackside at the 24 Hours of Spa

There's nothing more annoying than someone aggressively projecting their opinions onto you. Thankfully DRIVE's Trackside skips all the hyperbole and embellishments that usually accompany race footage, and tries its best to bring the experience of motorsports to the internet. It's about as close as you can get to being in the grandstands of some pretty famous race tracks while some very, very fast cars go to work. The series has been admittingly boring with a few exceptions being the Nürburgring 24, Long Beach and this weekend's 24 hours of Spa.  The splendid lack of commentary is best suited to Spa more than the others. This weekend's race featured drastic changes in weather that fit the track perfectly, and let's be honest, tying emotions/words to weather at a racing event is pretty pretentious (lame). The great filming and absence of words make for some spectacular moments, especially where the weather changes from bright and sunny to ominous gray, and then monsoon. Words couldn't come close to describing the soundtrack of straight-cut gears, howling engines, and carbon-fiber skid plates making contact with smooth asphalt as day fades to night. The video is not short, but it does condense 24 hours of racing into 33 minutes, so if you're into cars you should like this. Alot.
