Spotted: Porsche 918 Spyder in the Wild

Oh look, a Land Rover Defender!
The Porche 918 Spyder is one of the major anticipations of 2013. If you've been scouring the internet hoping to find video of a close to production spec model look no further. One Youtuber spotted the hybrid hypercar undergoing some high altitude/hot weather testing in the Sierra Nevada mountaints of Spain. Though it could have been a weekend getaway disguised as work for one lucky Porsche test-driver. Porsche has released a fair amount of details on the 918 Spyder already further adding to the internet hype behind this groundbreaking feat of engineering. Set to arrive sometime in 2013, the 918 Spyder will be putting down 759 horsepower to all four wheels thanks to a 4.6 liter V-8 making 562 horsepower and two electric motors on the front and rear axles making up the difference. The body will be made out of what Porsche is calling carbon fiber reinforced plastic, which should be a step forward in the evolution ofcomposite body construction. It will also feature active aerodynamics and a 0-60 time of less than 3 seconds. EVO takes us inside the development of the 918 Spyder while testing at Nardo:
