Is Evocativness even a word? Not really sure, but due to our limited knowledge of the dictionary, we went ahead and invented a new word to describe this latest offering from HAMANN
. Maybe added manliness would be the way they would like us to describe special edition, but at the end of the day, it's still an Evoque and not a Defender 90
or a Range Rover
. However, the new body kit and wheels do manage to bring out the inner female bull dog that makes up the baby Range's... ummm... unique looks.
We have to admit though, the new front bumper is pretty aggressive stuff. The multi-tiered setup helps break up the built for crash-safety monotony of the standard Evoque. This new front end looks like it eats small children, the vegan, fair-trade kind of course. The front bumper is aided by the new wider fenders, which house the massive 22-inch wheels. Wrapped in 295 width tires all around means that the Evoque probably handles a lot better than it did stock. Or is just a lot louder.
The changes to the suspension and bodywork are backed up by a generous boost in horsepower department. With both gasoline and diesel engines receiving an additional 31 and 38 horsepower respectively. HAMANN manged to find the extra ponies thanks to a clever new intake, chip tunning and new "high-performance exhaust" system. We like exhaust systems, especially ones that look as good as this center exit setup.
Inside, the interior remains mainly untouched with the exception of really comfortable looking red leather seats. Though they do seem heavily bolstered, they look a little heavy duty, dare we say, out-of-place in the baby-Range. Other accents and touches include double stitching on the dashboard, seats and the all-important floor mats.
