2013 Mercedes GL63 AMG: The Ultimate Mommy-Mobile
The likes of Gucci wearing soccer moms everywhere rejoice. For those of you getting tired of your old boring Mercedes GL, you can now trade it in for a more more powerful, better looking and of course, more expensive version. Surprisingly, Merecedes' big and bulky GL SUV has never received the AMG treatment, well that is until now. Mercedes released the full details on their upcoming GL63 AMG.
New visual cues like LED running lights and a more noticeable front air vent differentiate the AMG from the standard GL. The aluminum trim and classic AMG five spoke wheels give it that gaudy, yet beautiful AMG touch. On the inside the interior also gets some upgraded AMG bits like a new steering wheel, sport seats, leather and AMG badges galore.
Sure the outside doesn't look hugely impressive compared to other AMG machines, but under the hood is where the GL63 struts its stuff. Thanks to a 5.5L 550-hp twin-turbo V8, the GL63 can sprint from 0-60 in only 4.9 seconds and has a limited top speed of 155 mph. All this power goes towards a seven-speed AMG speedshift transmission, so your kids will definitely be getting to soccer practice on time.
All this AMG fun has yet to be given a cost, but expect somewhere in the neighborhood of $100K.
