Video: The Best German Street Cars for the Track Chris Harris has a very difficult job as the host of DRIVE’s “Chris Harris on Cars”. This week Harris is faced with the task of figuring out which German automaker makes the best street car for the track.  When we wonder what the ultimate street and track would be, the Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 immediately comes to mind. The original GT3 RS is a no brainer. Nothing grips as hard, brakes as sharply or sounds as visceral. It’s a challenging car to drive fast, but rewards you as driver when you get it just right. The GT3 RS 4.0  is simply more of a great thing. But now there are two new offerings from the mad men at Mercedes Benz AMG and BMW’s M Division. The Mercedes Benz C63 AMG Black, and the BMW M3 GTS both combine big V8 horsepower with track ready looks and performance to rival the Porsche. All Harris has to do is drive the pants off these German brutes and see which comes out on top. Cue the big drifts, hooning down Welsh back roads and seriously quick on-track driving. Life is hard indeed.
