There are several movies with automotive action filming this summer, including Fast & Furious 8 and Transformers 5. Now, we’re getting a look at an upcoming action film called The Hitman's Bodyguard, and these videos suggest that its chase through Amsterdam might be something to look forward to. One stunt even has Porsche Cayenne chucking a Smart Fortwo into a canal.
The woman who filmed these clips had a bird’s eye view of the action. The video above was one of the last ones she recorded. The Cayenne comes around a tight corner, oversteers, and the SUV’s rump smacks into the little Smart. The action looks great, but it wouldn’t work in a real chase because the Porsche needs to stop and reverse to get back onto the narrow road.
The same woman also recorded two earlier takes of the action. We hope everyone living in the area knew about the filming because the gunshots sound real. Another attempt added a motorcycle on the other side of the water. In the final video, you can see the crew retrieving the Smart from the canal.
The Hitman's Bodyguard stars Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, and Salma Hayek. According to the plot summary on the film’s Facebook page: “The world's top protection agent has a new client: a hit man who came in from the cold. They've been on the opposite ends of a bullet for years. They hate each other. And now they're stuck together, and have 24 hours to get to the Hague.” The page doesn’t mention a release date.
