The Porsche 919 Hybrid is on pole for this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans, and the brand is celebrating before even taking the checkered flag. The crew at the brand’s in-house customizer Porsche Exclusive is now debuting the 911 Carrera S Endurance Racing Edition. The special model celebrates the company’s successes at Le Mans with decals that resemble its modern race cars.
The Endurance Racing Edition’s odd graphics should draw looks. The phrase “Porsche Intelligent Performance” runs from the nose to the tail. However, the windshield and rear glass break up the words, so it’s hard to read. Owners can show confused bystanders the same expression on the center armrest to explain what the symbols actually depict. The special model is available with black decals over a white or Guards Red body. Customers can also order a black car with gray stickers, according to Evo. Regardless of color, they come with black emblems and 20-inch gloss black wheels.
Porsche Exclusive fits the interior with aggressive red accents for the seat belts, floor mat edges, and a band around the top of the GT Sport steering wheel. Carbon fiber trim, including on the glove compartment and illuminated door sills, also accentuates the racing-inspired design.
While not as track ready as a GT3 RS, the Endurance Racing Edition should still be a blast behind the wheel. Porsche Exclusive packages the coupes with the Sport Chrono package, sports exhaust, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, and rear-axle steering. Power comes from the same 3.0-liter biturbo flat six as the standard Carrera S, and buyers can pick between a seven-speed manual or PDK dual-clutch gearbox.
The Endurance Racing Edition will cost $14,845 in addition to the base Carrera S' $104,450 after destination. Fewer than 100 will come to the United States, company spokesperson Frank Wiesmann tells Motor1.
