There hasn't been much drama in qualifying for this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans, but the Audi R8 Safety Car, ironically, nearly changed that this evening. While inspecting the drenched circuit in the rain during a time-out from this evening's final qualifying session, safety car driver Yannick Dalmas, a four-time Le Mans winner himself, almost lost control of his R8 in the esses and managed to save himself, and the car, with some severe counter steering. The effect was a nice power slide in the rain through the corner, and much rejoicing from the Audi team and spectators alike.
