New movie will drive into cinemas on June 16, 2017.

While the second part of the animated Cars movie totally outsold the original film with more than three times better earnings in the U.S., many still consider the first installment as the better and more interesting piece to watch. If you are a bigger fan of Cars 1 too, then we have some good news for you – according to, Cars 3 will feel more like the first movie, rather than the spy-actioned Cars 2.

We expect to see the same warm sense of humor as in previous movies, and Pixar exec and director John Lasseter tells us there will be several new characters, involved in an "emotional story."

New Extended Trailer:

“Lightning McQueen, he’s awesome,” Lasseter told our source. “We’ve got some great new characters, some great racing in it. It’s a very emotional story. It’s a little bit more akin to Cars 1, where you get into a deep emotion with him. It’s really a special story. It’s very emotional and his relationship with Doc Hudson, and his memory of Doc Hudson.”

Last month it was revealed “McQueen is in a position where his entire racing generation is being pushed out," as director Brian Fee told USA Today.

Cars 3 will land into U.S. theaters on June 16, 2017, trying to beat the $191,452,396 that Cars 2 grossed in the U.S. and Canada.
