If you’re a big fan of BTTF, you’ll love this Toyota truck.

Arguably one of the best movie franchises ever, the Back to the Future trilogy still has a huge fan base even though the last movie came out about 16 years ago. Our friends at theAFICIONAUTO have released a video providing a close look at the 1985 Toyota SR5 xtra cab that Marty McFly (played by Michael J. Fox) drove. It’s actually the only surviving on-screen truck. This particular Toyota truck was used for the second and third installments of the movie, as the original vehicle from the first BTTF was given away in a contest and the winner totaled it.

Time Machine Restoration located the surviving truck back in the summer of 2012 and decided to restore it to its former glory. However, they were busy at that time restoring a DeLorean, so in the end decided to sell it. The Sheas bought it and as you can see it now looks exactly as it did in the movie, but you can imagine it wasn’t easy to find all the parts necessary to restore the original appearance.

The truck itself has had a tumultuous life, being stolen and used at one point to transport drugs. Thankfully, it’s now in a very good place and those who own it really value what it represents to fans of the movies. Some will remember that Toyota also showed its love for Back to the Future by introducing a namesake Tacoma-based concept last October which remained faithful to the SR5 xtra cab’s look.
