June 2 is fast approaching, so Audi is kicking the teaser campaign for the all-new A5 Coupe into high gear by showing some of the car’s design. In one of the silly GIFs released recently, the peeps from Ingolstadt are providing a glimpse of the Audi Virtual Cockpit. That’s a fancy way of referring to the car’s all-digital instrument cluster already seen on the A4 Sedan where it is offered as optional equipment. You can have it on other Audis as well, such as the TT, Q7, and the R8 supercar.
The high-resolution 12.3-inch digital screen shows some of the selectable view modes and at one point the car’s design is somewhat revealed, albeit the quality of the image is subpar.
In another teaser, we get to check out the prominent character line which runs all the way to the back of the stylish coupe.
Lastly, a third GIF released by Audi shows the V6 3.0-liter TDI engine which will likely be offered with 218 horsepower (160 kilowatts) and 272 hp (200 kW) like in the A4s. The lesser version has a peak torque of 295 pound-feet (400 newton meters) at 1,250 rpm whereas the stronger one churns a beefy 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) at 1,500 rpm.
Slightly larger yet lighter than the outgoing model, the 2017 Audi A5 Coupe will probably go on sale this fall and will be followed shortly by the S5. The spicier version will make use of Audi’s newly developed turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 with 354 hp (260 kW) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm). A full-blown RS5 Coupe will join the lineup likely in the second half of 2017. Rumors say it will use an evolution of the V6 with e-turbo tech that will bump output to about 480 hp (353 kW).
