Cadillac House opens on June 2nd.
UPDATE 5/23/2016: Cadillac confirmed today that its public space, Cadillac House, will open to the public on June 2. In addition to the Joe Coffee location, the space will host a Retail Lab store with rotating pop-up merchants (starting with Timo Weiland), plus an art exhibit space in partnership with art magazine Visionaire. The space will also host, at least initially, three new Cadillac models: An XT5 crossover, a CT6 sedan, and a CTS-V sedan. Cadillac House will be open to the public from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at weekends.
Located on the ground floor of the company's headquarters, the high-end coffee shop won't be giving Starbucks a run for its money but it is designed to help elevate the brand.
The idea sounds a little wacky but the 12,000 square foot location is called the Cadillac House and will feature Joe Coffee as well as a "pop-up" Timo Weiland retail shop. The store will also have an assortment of artwork and a range of Cadillac models on display. Given that scents are all the range these days, Cadillac has enlisted 12.29 to develop a unique fragrance that will waft throughout the store.
In an interview with Bloomberg, Cadillac brand director Melody Lee said, “We have tried to tell people what you’re supposed to feel from the Cadillac brand but what we hadn’t quite fully established was an environment that you could walk into.”
The Cadillac House is located at 330 Hudson Street in New York City and will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday with shorter hours on the weekend.
