SPOFEC has developed a wide body conversion kit for the sublimely elegant Rolls-Royce Wraith coupe.
If you are a frequent visitor of our “aftermarket / tuning” category, over there you’ll find some pretty sweet kits along with others which aren’t that great. We have mixed feelings about this one and we don’t know whether the new look suits the Wraith or not. Some will say it kind of defeats the purpose of a tuning job since it takes away some of the coupe’s refinement instead of boosting it even further.
At least the aftermarket package has an appropriate name: “Overdose.” All of the custom bits and pieces added are made from carbon fiber to keep the weight down and now the body is five inches (13 centimeters) wider at the back. Those prominent wheel arches are hosting a set of 22-inch alloys while at the back there’s a carbon spoiler lip and a sportier exhaust system.
While the exterior design won’t be to everyone’s liking, the changes underneath the hood should meet the approval of most. SPOFEC fiddled with the biturbo 6.6-liter V12 engine and managed to extract an additional 85 horsepower (62.5 kilowatts) for a grand total of 717 hp (527 kW). The torque figure was also bumped from the series 590 pound-feet (800 newton meters) to a respectable 728 pound-feet (986 newton meters).
The extra punch has slashed 0.2 seconds from the 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) which now takes just 4.2 seconds before the tuned Wraith tops out at the same electronically-restricted 155 mph (250 kph). SPOFEC says it did not remove the limiter in order to preserve the integrity of the tires.
This particular Rolls-Royce Wraith was also the subject of other changes, including a sportier suspension setup bringing the high-end coupe closer to the road by 40 mm. But that only happens at speeds of up to 87 mph (140 kph) as once you get passed that, the suspension will revert to the original settings.
In order to match the added oomph, SPOFEC installed carbon ceramic brakes which not only provide superior braking power, but also bring weight savings of 84 pounds (38 kilograms) compared to the standard brakes.
To top it all off, the tuner says it has numerous customization options for the interior cabin, as if Rolls-Royce doesn’t already have an extensive personalization catalog.

An extravagant widebody design that characterizes the spectacular appearance and a matching 12-cylinder twin-turbo engine performance-tuned to produce 527 kW / 717 HP of peak power and 986 Nm of peak torque: The SPOFEC OVERDOSE presented by German refinement specialist SPOFEC is arguably the most spectacular interpretation of a Rolls-Royce ever seen.
The OVERDOSE comes in a limited special edition of just eight vehicles based on the Wraith, which already in standard specification is one of the world’s most exclusive and rare luxury coupes.
Apart from the sporty-elegant bodywork conversion featuring components made from carbon, the SPOFEC coupe impresses with its 22-inch alloys, a modified control unit for the pneumatic suspension and a carbon-ceramic high-performance braking system.
The engine tuning is complemented with the SPOFEC stainless-steel sport exhaust system with electronic sound management.
SPOFEC exclusively refines the current automobiles from Rolls-Royce. The name of the brand is an acronym formed from “SPirit OF Ecstasy,” the name of the legendary hood ornament that adorns the vehicles from Goodwood.
Since 2014, SPOFEC has been customizing all current Rolls-Royce models. With the OVERDOSE widebody version, which will be built in a limited edition of just eight vehicles worldwide, the company based in Stetten in southern Germany now expands its product lineup with a new top-of-the-range version.
The new bodywork conversion was designed in cooperation with designer Vittorio Strosek, one of the leading specialists in this field. The material of choice is carbon. This hi-tech synthetic material from Formula 1 racing offers a perfect combination of low weight and high strength. The high-quality finish of these composite parts guarantees a perfect fit, a flawless surface quality, and makes them easy to paint.
The significantly wider front and rear fenders are immediately apparent even at first glance. They extend the width of the 2+2-seater to 208 centimeters on the rear axle – 13 centimeters wider than the production car! To this end, the designers sculpted arched flares for the rear sidewalls and fitted them seamlessly to the production bodywork. They create space for SPOFEC SP1 alloys of size 10.5Jx22, mounted with high-performance tires of size 295/30 ZR 22. These wheels feature ten offset pairs of double spokes and can be ordered in any desired color.
Powerfully sculpted SPOFEC OVERDOSE fenders on the front axle add seven centimeters to the car’s overall width at the front. They replace the production components in their entirety. The corresponding wheels of size 9Jx22 are fitted with size 265/35 ZR 22 tires.
Newly developed rocker panels create a perfect transition between the front and rear OVERDOSE fenders. Thanks to their sophisticated design, they also emphasize the wasp waist of the two-door car. In addition, they also give the British luxury coupe an even lower and longer visual stance. An air scoop on either side provides the rear brakes with cooling air.
The SPOFEC OVERDOSE front bumper is designed to replace its production counterpart and perfectly matches the shape of the wider front fenders. It also lends the Wraith a more athletic expression while reducing lift on the front axle at high speeds.
The new SPOFEC OVERDOSE rear bumper also harmonizes perfectly with the flares and thus gives the Wraith an extremely sporty appearance from the rear as well. In addition, the new bumper provides the perfect backdrop for integrating the two tailpipes of the SPOFEC sport exhaust system into the thrilling overall appearance. The SPOFEC naked carbon spoiler lip on the trunk puts the finishing touch on the aerodynamic efficiency of the conversion kit.
The stainless-steel exhaust weighs five kilograms less than the production system. What is more: the sport exhaust also optimizes the engine’s power delivery. And the SPOFEC system produces a considerably sportier but never obtrusive exhaust note from the turbocharged V12. The German refinement specialist also offers a variant with actively controlled butterfly valves that allows an electronic sound management. Drivers can switch the engine sound between markedly subtle and powerfully sporty from the cockpit by remote control.
The SPOFEC performance upgrade for the 6.6-liter twin-turbo 12-cylinder engine of the Rolls-Royce Wraith is equally fascinating. The processor-controlled plug-and-play N-TRONIC module is integrated into the engine electronics and provides the engine with new mapping for injection and ignition while increasing the boost pressure of the twin-turbo engine.
After its installation, the engine produces an additional 62.5 kW / 85 HP of peak power and puts an extra 186 Nm of peak torque at the driver’s disposal. A new power output of 527 kW / 717 HP and a peak torque of 986 Nm accelerate the refined luxury coupe from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds. The top speed remains electronically limited to 250 km/h to protect the tires.
On the road, the power delivery of the V12 optimized across the entire rev range ensures an even more superior driving experience with unchanged exemplary eco-friendliness.
To lend the SPOFEC OVERDOSE also even more dynamic handling, the SPOFEC suspension experts developed a special control module for the standard pneumatic suspension. It lowers the ride height of the coupe by about 40 millimeters compared with the production car at speeds of up to 140 km/h. At higher speeds, the body automatically reverts to the original level.
The SPOFEC carbon-ceramic high-performance braking system further improves active safety. It features vented discs of sizes 405 x 30 millimeter at the front and 395 x 38 on the rear axle. These brakes deliver more stopping power and higher fade resistance than the production brakes. But that’s not all: The SPOFEC braking system also represents weight savings of 38 kilograms compared with the production system. The reduced unsprung masses further optimizes the car’s handling.
Of course, SPOFEC makes every wish come true with perfect workmanship in the interior as well. There is virtually no limit to the range of colors for the high-quality types of leather and Alcantara.
