The convertible will have a 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine that produces 354 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.

Work continues on the 2017 Audi S5 Cabriolet  as spy photographers have caught the model putting in a few laps on the Nürburgring.

Set to battle the Mercedes-AMG C43 Cabriolet, the S5 Cabrio has a familiar design but adopts a more prominent grille that is flanked by angular headlights.  Moving further back, we can see a rakish windscreen, a power retractable soft top, and a four-tailpipe sports exhaust system.  The car has also been equipped with a sport-tuned suspension, lightweight alloy wheels, and a redesigned trunk with an integrated spoiler.

Like the S4, the S5 Cabrio will be powered by a 3.0-liter TFSI V6 engine that produces 354 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. It will be connected to an eight-speed tiptronic transmission and a rear-biased quattro all-wheel drive system. This should enable the convertible to accelerate from 0-62 miles per hour in approximately 4.8 seconds before hitting a limited top speed of 155 mph.

If that's not fast enough, you might want to wait for Audi to introduce the all-new RS5 Cabrio.  Nothing is official but the model is expected to feature a new biturbo 3.6-liter V6 engine that develops nearly 500 hp.
