Making the transition from the “Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sport” name to “Mercedes-AMG C43,” the model bridges the gap between the regular C Class and the mighty C63. Pricing kicks off at £44,460 if you go for the sedan and from £45,660 if you would rather have the more practical estate. These two body styles join the already available C43 Coupe which will set you back £46,280.
The C450 trio shares a biturbo 3.0-liter V6 engine which churns 367 horsepower (270 kilowatts) and 384 pound-feet (520 newton meters) of torque. Output is delivered exclusively to the all-wheel-drive 4MATIC system through a nine-speed automatic transmission. The sedan and coupe will run to 60 mph (96 kph) in 4.7 seconds whereas the slightly heavier estate needs an extra 0.2 seconds.
All C43s in U.K. specification come as standard with black 18-inch alloy wheels, silver brake calipers with “AMG” lettering, and black mirror caps. The interior is finished in ARTICO leather and DINAMICA microfiber upholstery and gets red contrast stitching to spice things up. At an additional cost, you can add AMG performance seats for £1,405 and the AMG performance exhaust for a meaner sound if you are willing to pay an extra £1,000.
The C43s are now available on order and will start reaching customers by September.
In related news, Mercedes-Benz UK has announced the introduction of 4MATIC for the C200, C220d, and C250 for an additional £1,500 compared to the equivalent RWD variant. There’s also a new SE Executive Edition for the sedan and estate which costs £1,295 more than the SE. In exchange for the premium you get 17-inch rims, Active Parking Assist (with PARKTRONIC), heated front seats, split folding rear seats (40:20:40), estate-only chrome roof rails, and Garmin navigation.
