Aston Martin decided to give all five buyers of the V8 Vantage S Blades Edition the VIP treatment by organizing aerobic flights.
As if receiving the keys to a brand new Aston Martin wasn’t already exciting enough, the company’s Cambridge dealer decided to kick things up a notch. On the day of delivery, the five customers who bought the V8 Vantage S “Blades Edition” received a very special treat by hopping on board of a plane with a member of The Blades aerobatic team.
That wasn’t all, as once the aerobatic flight experience came to an end, they hit the track with their new prized possessions and received valuable input from members of the Aston Martin professional driving team. They also had some fun with a Formula 1 racing simulator and at the end of the day they went home with a matching black and orange leather photo album of the car’s production life story.
Commissioned by Aston Martin Cambridge, the limited-run V8 Vantage S Blades Edition was revealed in January with a livery derived from the tri-colored planes of the aerobatic team. All cars are finished in silver with a black roof and orange accents, while the wheels are painted in black. To further differentiate it from the regular model, AM painted the brake calipers in orange and installed a carbon fiber front spoiler.
The interior is home to black leather seats with orange accents and The Blades logo embroidered on the headrests. In addition, the cabin is adorned with a carbon fiber trim and orange piping on the carpets. All these tweaks commanded a premium of £9,250 compared to a regular V8 Vantage S, so those five individuals ended up paying a hefty £119,950.
It’s not actually the first time when a car manufacturer organizes an aerobatic flight on delivery day. Last year, all seven owners of the Continental GT Speed Breitling Jet Team Series by Mulliner were invited by Bentley to ride in L-39 Albatros jets during the Boeing Seafair Air Show in Seattle.
