Production will be limited to 250 units annually for this $400K+ beast.

Ford has begun accepting applications for the 2017 GT.

Interested customers are being asked to visit the new website and fill out an ownership application. Ford didn't have much to say about the application itself but previous reports have suggested the company will be asking a number of different questions including how active potential owners are on social media, how often they plan to drive the car, and how many Ford vehicles they have owned in the past.

Customers who pass through the vetting process will then work with the Ford GT Concierge Service to finalize their purchase. The car will then be delivered to a local dealership of the owner's choosing.

Ford is keeping the car's final specifications under lock and key but the company confirmed the model will have eight exterior colors and seven different stripes. More importantly, the automaker revealed pricing will start in the mid $400,000 range - excluding destination and delivery fees.

Fans who can't afford to purchase a GT can still explore the car's configurator, which is available at

Originally unveiled at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the 2017 Ford GT features a carbon fiber body and a mid-mounted biturbo V6 engine that produces more than 600 horsepower.

The first round of applications is being accepting through May 12th at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Production will be limited to 250 units annually, so interested customers better act quickly.
