Car will rocket from 0-62 mph in as little as 3.5 seconds.
New details are starting to emerge about the highly anticipated Mercedes-AMG E63 as a purportedly leaked document has revealed the car's performance specifications.
According to pictures posted on German Car Forum, the E63 will have a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 engine that produces 571 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque. It should enable the sedan to accelerate from 0-62 miles per hour in less than 3.7 seconds before hitting a limited top speed of 155 mph.
Moving up to the E63 S will reportedly reward buyers with an upgraded engine that develops 612 hp and 626 pound-feet of torque. Thanks to the extra power, the dash from 0-62 mph will be cut to 3.5 seconds while the top speed will once again be limited to 155 mph.
Regardless of which model is selected, both will come standard with a nine-speed AMG SpeedShift transmission that sends power to the rear wheels. An all-wheel-drive variant is also expected but nothing is official as of yet.
Despite being significantly more powerful than the outgoing models, the new E63 and E63 S will be more fuel-efficient as the document suggests the car will return approximately 27.3 miles per gallon.
