The Nissan GT-R has set a new world record, any guesses on which one?

Nissan has released a new teaser video which suggests the GT-R Nismo has set a new world record.

The company is keeping details under wraps but the automaker hinted an announcement will be made shortly.  That's not much to go on but the teaser video was released by Nissan Middle East which suggests the world record may have been set in that region.

Regardless of which record the company is talking about, the GT-R Nismo appears to have been modified as it features a new shifter and what appears to be a larger intercooler.  The front fascia also looks like it has been optimized for improved cooling.

The Nissan GT-R Nismo is no stranger to world records as the model became the "fastest volume production car" to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife when it posted of a time of 7:08.679 back in 2013.

The 2016 Nissan GT-R Nismo costs $149,990 in the United States and features a carbon fiber body kit that includes lightweight bumpers, a rear spoiler, and a carbon fiber trunk lid.  The car also boasts a sport-tuned suspension and 20-inch forged aluminum wheels with Dunlop Sports Maxx GT600 ultra tires.

Power is provided by a biturbo 3.8-liter V6 engine which develops 600 horsepower and 481 lb-ft of torque.  It is connected to a six-speed dual clutch transmission and an all-wheel drive system.
