The hotter Smart ForTwo and ForFour prepared by Brabus have been caught on camera without any camouflage.
We’ve seen the higher performance Smart ForTwo and ForFour numerous times while undergoing testing as camouflaged prototypes and now the disguise is gone. Spotted during a photo shoot, the tiny cars have received a slightly more aggressive body with beefier bumpers and a sporty rear diffuser hosting dual exhaust tips featuring a metallic finish. The arrangement of the exhaust tips is different compared to the previous models which had the two tips mounted in the center and positioned next to each other.
As you can see, the ForTwo and ForFour in Brabus specification sit on enlarged alloy wheels that have a two-tone finish and it seems the cars have a stiffer suspension setup with a lower ride height. Although not visible in the adjacent pictures, we expect a larger set of brakes and some minor tweaks inside the cabin to denote it’s the range-topping edition.
It remains a mystery what will power the two city cars, but reports are indicating Brabus has tweaked the turbocharged three-cylinder, 0.9-liter gasoline engine. In the regular ForTwo and ForFour, the engine delivers 90 horsepower and it is believed it will be bumped to around 110 hp for the hotter models.
Reports say the 2016 Smart ForTwo and ForFour by Brabus will be officially introduced at the Beijing Motor Show which kicks off on April 25 with the first press day. If that’s correct, expect an online reveal to occur in the coming weeks.
