Porsche has revealed its updated 919 Hybrid LMP1 that will compete in the World Endurance Championship this season.

The defending champion manufacturer has announced that, for the first time, the team will use three different aerodynamic packages over the season in order to be competitive on each given track of the calendar.

The German manufacturer's 919 Hybrid livery is predominantly white and black with a tinge of red.

The team has worked on making the components of the electric drive more powerful and efficient, including the optimised electric motor at the front axle, the power electronics and the new generation of lithium-ion battery cells. The new front axle is designed to allow for more set-up options.

"The over-900hp strong Le Mans Prototype is ready for the title defence," said Porsche's VP, LMP1, Fritz Enzinger.

The line-up for 2016 remains unchanged with Mark Webber, Brendon Hartley and Timo Bernhard, last year's drivers' champions, carrying the #1 and the sister car of Romain Dumas, Neel Jani and Marc Lieb sporting the #2.
