The countdown to the New York Auto Show continues as Fiat has taken the wraps off the 124 Spider Elaborazione Abarth.
Essentially a renamed version of the Abarth 124 Spider, the model features unique bumpers, black side skirts, and Gun Metal accents. The car has also been equipped with a four-tailpipe sports exhaust system and 17-inch aluminum wheels with a Gun Metal finish.
The sporty styling continues in the cabin as drivers will find leather / microfiber seats, red contrast stitching, and a unique instrument cluster. The model also has a leather-wrapped steering wheel, "aluminum-accented" pedals, and a unique shifter.
Power is provided by a turbocharged 1.4-liter MultiAir four-cylinder engine that develops 160 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. It can be connected to either a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.
Speaking of performance, the 124 Spider Elaborazione Abarth has a limited slip differential and a sport suspension that includes Bilstein shock absorbers. The car also has an exclusive Sport Mode which changes the "calibrations of the engine, automatic transmission, electric power steering, and dynamic stability control system to ensure a sporty, responsive and performance-oriented driving experience." Lastly, enthusiasts will be able to order an optional Brembo braking system which adds four piston monoblock aluminum calipers.
